MASSIVE Planner Sticker Haul from Glam Planner on Etsy

March 25, 2019

Disclaimer: Post is NOT sponsored. All opinions are my own, and photos were taken by me.

ve some sort of idea of what I need to get done.

I currently have an Erin Condren Life Planner, and this is my third year having this style of planner. I have the vertical layout, and I think it is perfect for people who like to make lists to check off throughout the day.

My favorite thing to do every once in a while is to use planner stickers to give a little bit of life to my planner for a week or so. Below are some kits I have used in the past…

Let’s get to the haul!

For those of you who don’t know, Elle Fowler has been a YouTuber for over ten years now, and she took a little bit of a break the last few years in order to focus on her sticker shop: Glam Planner. She is currently in the process of moving from L.A to Nashville, and her sticker shop is moving to there too. So, she had a massive sale to get rid of the planner stickers she had left in stock in L.A, and of course I had to get my hands on a few kits. Well, it’s a little more than a few…

I bought twenty kits in this sale that Elle had, and I am so happy with all of the kits I purchased. I wanted to buy a variety to be able to use throughout this year, and I feel like I have some perfect ones for Spring, Fall, and Autumn. There is one kit that I could use for Winter. I do have some leftover sticker kits that I have previously purchased that I could use in Winter as well, and I think I’m mostly set for the year.

If you want to get your own stickers…

If you are interested in getting in the planner sticker world, I definitely recommend Elle’s stickers, because they are great quality and not that expensive. There are some sticker kits that are expensive, but the quality is lacking. I think she picked out the great combination of printer and sticker paper to make these stickers look so good.

Let me know which of these kits is your favorite. I did already use one of these kits last week since Spring started, and if you want to check out that layout, go to my instagram: @annamaxwell018

Other than my blog, I regularly post on Instagram. Be sure to give me a follow @annamaxwell018 or @LittlebitPatchCo for updates on my daily life. Thanks for reading, Anna.

Plan With Me (PWM): Goodbye Summer – September 2018

September 24, 2018

Fall is here, and it’s going to be a busy few months in my planner. I am super excited for this plan with me, and I hope you all enjoy it. This last full week of September was the perfect opportunity to use up one of the sticker kits I bought in my planner sticker haul in August. The kit was originally for Coachella, but I decided to use it as a road trip type kit. In a way it kind of signals that Summer is over, and we are riding into Fall now. That may be cheesy, but that was my vision for this kit.

The Full Kit – created by Glam Planner on Etsy.com

Overall, I would have to say that the kit was pretty easy to work with. There were some spaces where I didn’t align the stickers to the boxes all the way, and that drove me a little crazy. However, I think overall I used up a lot of the stickers from the kit. I had a few left over, and I think I’m just going to save those for the future. I really liked the bright colors, and it seemed like the perfect way to send off Summer.

The one thing I like about these stickers is that if I did place a sticker incorrectly, most of the time I was able to remove it, and put it somewhere else. There are many sticker kits that have a permanent adhesive backing, and once they are placed down, you can’t get them up. It took me about an hour to do this, but I took my time. I consider this process as relaxing, and it’s something that makes me happy.

Plan With Me

There were a few stickers that I would have changed the location of, but I think overall I am pleased with how this turned out. What do you all think? Would you have done this kit differently? Also, what are your favorite planner sticker shops on Etsy? I need some new inspiration. If you own your own shop, let me know as well. I’d love to help support your small business.

Food

Pink Lemonade Cupcakes

July 25, 2018

I am not really someone who would say they are a great cook. For the longest time, the only thing I could cook was breakfast foods, and honestly, it isn’t that hard to scramble some eggs or make a pancake. However, it did take me quite a while to master the art of not making the pancake doughy in the middle or burnt to a crisp on the outside.

Over the past four years since I graduated high school, I have been slowly working on expanding my cooking skills, and it has been a slow process. As of now, I can happily say I can cook more than just breakfast foods.

Pink Lemonade Cupcakes

The one thing I would like to improve on is baking. I am guilty of making salty cookies, failing at creative rice crispy treat making, or burning the edges to brownies. With the words ‘simple’ and ‘easy’ in mind, I have decided to make lemon cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting. To stay with a pink lemonade theme, I am going to use pink and yellow food dye to create the look.

Lemon Cupcake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup unsalted butter (soften to room temperature)
  • 1 Cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs(large)
  • 1 & 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 & 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 lemons (zest and juice from both lemons)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 F
  • Mix by hand or use a mixer, the butter and sugar until creamed.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, then continue to mix until everything is mixed together (wet ingredients)
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. (dry ingredients)
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients (expect the batter to be thick)
  • Lastly, add the milk, lemon juice and zest until it is well combined with batter. Don’t over mix!
  • Line a 12 cupcake pan with liners, then add the batter about 2/3 of the way in each cupcake liner
  • Bake for 18 minutes, check with a toothpick to see if the middle is cooked through. Add an extra 2 minutes if needed.

I found that the amount of lemon juice you add to the batter can vary from 1 to 2 lemons. 2 lemons worth of lemon juice for me added a strong lemon flavor to the batter, and while I do like lemon flavor I wouldn’t recommend doing a lemon flavored icing on top as it might make the lemon too overpowering.

Vanilla Butter Cream Icing

*NOTE: Wait until cupcakes are cooled before beginning to apply icing*

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 4 or 4 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract(this depends on how much vanilla you want in your, you can taste test as you are making the icing to determine how much you would like)

Directions:

  • Mix by hand or mixer the butter until creamy
  • Add 3 1/2 or 4 cups of your powdered sugar(leaving about a 1/2 cup on the side)
  • Add the heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract
  • Mix together well, then add the remaining 1/2 cup of powdered sugar

Troubleshooting: If you find your icing to be too liquidy, you can add a tablespoon more of powdered sugar. If it is too thick, you can add a tablespoon more of heavy whipping cream. If frosting is too sweet, add a little salt(1/4 of a teaspoon to start off with)

When I was adding dye to my cupcakes to make them pink or yellow, I reminded myself that a little goes a long way. I found pink and yellow food dye at my local grocery store, and I started off with a few drops in each bowl. It didn’t take more than 5 or 6 to each get the right look for the type of dye that I used.

I also added white pearl looking sprinkles to my cupcakes, but you could take a more creative direction and add thin lemon slices or lemon candies to the top.

Yes, my cupcake decorating could always use some improvement, but I think I did a good job on my first attempt. The one thing I wished I did differently is keep a better eye on the time the actual cupcakes were in the oven. They seemed to have baked a minute or two longer than they should have, but the overall cupcake was tasty. I hope you all enjoyed this recipe post. If you end up making this recipe, let me know on my Instagram or on my Twitter.

My Go-To Beauty Products – June 2018

June 29, 2018

[This post contains affiliate links. This means-at zero cost to you-I might earn a commission if you buy something through my links.]

While I try to spend my life letting my skin and hair have plenty of breaks from beauty and hair products, I do like to experiment with new beauty products regularly. So far this year, I’ve used to quite a bit of new products, and I finally narrowed down my go-to’s(we’re almost halfway through this year, where did the time go?). The list below has mostly beauty products, but I also have a couple hair and nail products in there.

I think I’ve transformed a lot this past year when it comes to what I’m using on my face for skincare or makeup, and I think it is important to try new things. I do want to say that if you plan on buying any of these products below, make sure you do your own research on what is compatible with your skin type or hair type. Sometimes products that work on oily skin have a completely different effect on those with dry skin. Now on with my favorites…

Favorite Scents

Favorites from Bath & Bodyworks

Lately, I have been obsessed with this rose and apple scent from Bath and Bodyworks. If you have been following me for a long time(here, Twitter, or Instagram), you know that I have a huge candle obsession. My 30+ candle collection all comes from Bath & Bodyworks, and my favorite time to buy is when they are on sale. Recently Bath & Bodyworks had their semi-annual, and I stocked up on everything. Including this lovely shower gel. I had already bought the body spray a couple months ago, and I was obsessed instantly. This is definitely a scent I recommend buying.

Mermaid Lagoon from Bath & Bodyworks

Mermaid Lagoon is one of my newer favorite scents from Bath & Bodyworks. It’s described as smelling like shimmering ocean water, tiare flowers, and sea mist. All fitting into the mermaid theme of the candle’s appearance. The one thing I like about this candle is that the scent is just right. It’s not too overpowering, but it’s not a weak smelling candle either.

Hair and Nail Products

Tresemme – [Affiliate]

I have been trying new things with my hair lately, some of which require heat, and this has been amazing for heat protection. Not only that, it helps smooth my hair out, and I definitely need that. My hair frizzes pretty easily, regardless of how hot it is outside. Just a little bit of heat causes my hair to go in all directions, and this has helped me manage my frizz a lot more.

Essie Nail Polish, Spaghetti Strap and Peach Daiquiri – [Affiliate]

With Summer approaching, my goal was to start buying more bright and colorful nail polish, and these 2 colors caught my eye immediately. The pale pink is called Spaghetti Strap and the darker pink is Peach Daiquiri. They are both beautiful colors, but they also fit different moods. One is more bright and perfect for a pop of color, and the other is more simple but beautiful for any work or fancy occasion.

Beauty Products

These are my favorite items in my makeup collection. I L O V E my Stila mascara and eyeliner. These two are perfect on their own without eyeshadow, and they accompany eyeshadow perfectly. I am absolutely obsessed, and can’t believe I went this long in my life without using these two products. The mascara doesn’t clump, and the eyeliner is easy to apply. Something that is most important to me is eyeliner application. I don’t really have steady hands, and I can’t use a product that is difficult to apply on top of my shaky hands.

My Morphe palette is my typical go-to for eyeshadow. I have been not wearing as much eyeshadow lately to give my eyes a somewhat break, but when I do wear it, I always grab at least one color from this palette. On a regular day, I’m usually sticking to more earth/warm tones for my eyeshadow, and this palette is perfect to fit my eyeshadow needs. However, if this isn’t exactly your thing, Morphe has a ton of different types of palettes with all different colors.

Last but not least, my Sun Bum sunscreen for face and lips. I absolutely love both the face sunscreen and the watermelon scented sunscreen chapstick. My pet peeve with sunscreens is usually the smell. I find that if the smell is too much like chemicals, I’m not as inclined to want to put it on. With how harsh the sun can actually be on our skin, it is very important to put sunscreen on every day, even when it’s cloudy. With these two products, I don’t think I’ll have any problem applying these every day.

I Take My Go-To’s Everywhere

My go-to’s are always in a bag, ready to go with me anywhere. Most are pretty inexpensive, and they get the job done. What’s in your go-to beauty bag? Let me know in the comments below, or comment on my Instagram photo for the blog 🙂

My Summer 2018 Playlist

June 25, 2018

Now that it is officially Summer, I think it is time to share my Summer playlist for this year. One thing that I enjoy more than anything is listening to music. No matter what mood I am in, there is always some song out there that fits what I’m feeling. I guess that’s the beauty of living in a world where we have access to so many different types of music.

How I Created My Summer Playlist

We have music streaming sources such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Pandora that allows us to listen to whatever we want, and it’s crazy to think that just 10 years ago you were limited to what you bought CD’s of. I personally use Spotify(not sponsored or affiliate, that’s just genuinely what I use), and I find new music from multiple genres just by listening to their New Music Friday playlist every week. I feel like my appreciation for music grew over the past few years, as I was finally branching out and experience different genres of music.

Music also is a major way to help inspire me when I’m feeling lacking in the creativity department. I haven’t talked about this much on my blog yet, but I love to write. By “write” I mean writing stories. My dream since I was a little girl was to become an author. To this day, I am still in the work in progress stages, but it’s still a goal for me. I find when I have trouble writing a scene, I skim through some playlists of mine that I think might fit the mood, and all it takes is that one magical song to get rid of my writer’s block.

My thought process when creating this playlist is happy and uplifting songs. I hope you all find happiness through this music and enjoy the playlist!

When I think of Summer, I think of good times and adventures. I put in a mixture of songs that are more current, and a few of my favorites from the past few years. I hope you all enjoy the playlist, and let me know how you feel about in the comments below. Also, if you have any songs that you think are a must add to the playlist, let me know.

My Summer Goals / Bucket List for 2018

June 12, 2018

I love making lists and plans, and with Summer fast approaching, a summer goals list is just what I need. I love having activities and adventures to look forward to, and having a somewhat Summer bucket list will be very helpful in keeping me busy. When coming up with the list, I decided to do a combo of summer goals and bucket list items. What’s the difference? I consider a goal to be something like “I want to write more”, and a bucket list item is “I want to travel _____”.
