One of my favorite hobbies is to scroll through Pinterest and find inspiration for my daily life. When I get on Pinterest, it is usually to pass time, but lately(this past year) I find that it is helpful when I need some vision. I kind of look at my Pinterest account, as a huge vision board for my life. Anything that inspires me to create or work towards(life goals), I want it on my boards. I don’t have that much of a structure, I just make boards for what inspires me. Lately, my focus has been Fashion, Travel, and Summer. I also have boards that are dedicated to food(dessert, drinks, ect.), planner stickers, and decor. I don’t really choose to have a specific theme for my Pinterest, because it is more for my creativity and vision than anything else.
My Pinterest Traffic Report
Even though I consider Pinterest to be a hobby, I also look at it as a job. Over the past year(or almost year, since September 2017), I have started to take Pinterest a little more seriously. Meaning, I spend more time pinning on my boards, and more careful about choosing what content to post. That being said, my top priority is still to pin what inspires me, but I also take in affiliate pins every once in a while. (This isn’t a post focused on affiliate pinning on Pinterest, but that will be coming soon!)
Below, I have a picture from September 30th, 2017, and it shows my monthly views and engagements.

Jump to Present Time
At that point in my life, I realized my Pinterest had been growing without me really realizing it, and I decided to pursue the growth aspect from then on. So, below is the monthly views and engagements as of May 2018.
I cannot believe the jump I’m getting in engagement and monthly views, I have gone through several different trials to get to this point, and I am very pleased with the results. I’m sure that there are people out there that may think that my improvement isn’t that significant, but I am happy with it. This is still something I consider to be a hobby, and the job aspect is still pretty laid back for me. However, the fact that I’ve actually made a profit from doing what I’m doing is enough for me.
How did I do it?
Most people assume that it’s as simple as 1, 2, 3… However, It actually was a long process, that changed quite a bit over the past several months. What worked for me, might not work for you, or not be your style. That’s okay. Everyone is different, and you can’t expect to have the same results as someone else. My main tip is to schedule your pins. Yes, you can still manually pin, but you want to try to have some consistency on your page. You don’t really want to post ten times today, not post tomorrow, post a couple times the next day, and then not post again for two or three days.
The way to grow in views and engagements is to have a steady flow of pins. I use Tailwind to schedule my pins, but there are plenty of platforms out there for you to schedule your pins with. (If you use my link to sign up for Tailwind, you can get a $30 credit to use Tailwind up until June 17th!)
Have a variety
I also keep track of what pins are performing higher, and tend to repin some of those pins and find more pins like them. While I don’t do this for all my boards or all my pins, just on boards that perform better. I do recommend having a variety of pins, and not just the same concept of pins. It makes for a more attractive board to have a variety.
I have a lot of plans to grow my Pinterest even further, and I also would love to share my journey with you all. I am planning to do posts on my journey, as well as my journey with affiliate marketing on some of my pins. The options are endless, and if you have any ideas or questions related to Pinterest be sure to put them in the comments below. Or go to my Instagram or Twitter, and I would love to help you from there.
